North Carolina Log Cabin – Rustic Wedding Shoot
So what does a wedding photographer do when they go on vacation? A styled shoot of course! Right?
Our close friends, Shawn and Charlene, had a beautiful summer wedding in the Florida Keys almost five years ago – which I of course attended. Their wedding overlooked the bay, was surrounded by palm trees, and was absolutely gorgeous. Since their wedding was warm and sunny, it only made sense to have a styled shoot on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Shawn and Charlene vacation every year in their families’ cabin up in a secluded mountain in North Carolina. My husband and I have joined them in the past, and when Charlene invited us this year, we decided it would be super fun to tag along. Of course, since I knew the scenery is absolutely amazing up there, I called Charlene and said, “Hey, umm… Pack your wedding dress, because we are doing a rustic wedding styled shoot!” Charlene is very go with the flow, so she didn’t even ask questions, and said, “Sure! I’ll pack it tonight!”.
Paul and I packed our bags and our baby, and headed out. The drive to their cabin is a little under 10 hours from central Florida. Being from Florida, we are very ill prepared for this type of weather. We didn’t even have a decent coat to pack, and we get VERY nervous driving in snow. Needless to say, we where very cold, and very anxious, LOL. When we finally arrived, we felt so much better, so we started prepping for our styled shoot!
The day after our arrival, we ventured out into the mountains, to find picture perfect spots for the shoot! It honestly wasn’t too difficult, since everywhere we looked there was so much beautiful landscape. Shawn and Charlene were such great sports, even in 20 degree weather!
Here are our favorite shots from this Log Cabin Inspired Wedding Shoot! Special thanks to Paper Snaps for providing the awesome invitations.
