The Importance of Making Time for Bridal Portraits by an Orlando Wedding Photographer

As I complete my second year and business, I am humbled and honored to have been part of so many beautiful weddings. My couples are amazing, and they trust me fully to capture the most important day of their lives. As time continues to pass, I strive toward elevating my skill and craft further, so that I can produce timeless images for my couples.

After two years of attending so many gorgeous weddings, the importance of bridal portraits is so apparent to me. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day, and I always ask my couples to set time in their timeline for them.

That leads me to this:

Make time for your wedding portraits! This isn’t a rant, but more of an informative suggestion. Things do not always go as planned on the wedding day, but your bridal portraits should not be placed on the back burner. If your wedding starts an hour late, make necessary adjustments, but do not forgo your wedding portraits. Yes, I know, cocktail hour is awesome and you do not want to miss it, but do you want to hang pictures of cocktail hour over your couch, or an amazing portrait as husband and wife. We can create magic with just a few minutes, but you must be willing to make the time.

I’ve seen this happen so many times, and it breaks my heart. The wedding comes and goes in a split second, and these pictures are a beautiful reminder of such an important day in your life. You want to freeze these moments in time.

As a wedding photographer, I always make sure I create beautiful portraits for all of my couples, but it’s not a one sided contract. So as you plan for your big day, remember to make time for your bridal portraits!

Orlando Wedding Photography – Harmony Golf Preserve

Vanessa & Chris’ wedding day was full of surprises! I met up with Vanessa and Chris at the Harmony Golf Preserve, where they were both getting ready. When I saw Vanessa, she was already all dolled up, and looking like a beautiful bride. Her family and friends where excited and anxious for the big show to get on the road.

Vanessa and Chris decided to do a letter exchange before the ceremony, so they sent their maid of honor and best man to do the exchange. When Vanessa was reading the letter Chris had written to her, you could see that his words had brought her a sense of calm. After the gift exchange, Vanessa wanted to do a first look with her father. She looked beautiful as she walked out towards him. He was so excited to see his daughter in her wedding gown, ready to walk down the aisle.

As we were waiting for the wedding ceremony to start, the skies decided to show their excitement for Vanessa & Chris’ big day, by greeting us with a downpour. But no rain was going to stop this wedding from going forward. As soon as the skies cleared, the wedding continued, and it was just as beautiful as expected.

After the wedding, we went directly to the reception, where everyone had a wonderful time. There were even unexpected festival surprises waiting for their guests under the tables.

Here are my favorite images from their big day! Special thanks to Amanda, from Amanda Mejias Photography for second shooting for me!

Country Club Wedding – Orlando Florida

I’m so excited to share Liestra & Roger’s Ventura Country Club Wedding on the blog today!

Let’s talk about this absolutely stunning bride – Liestra. On the day of the wedding, she was so nervous and excited to walk down the aisle to Roger. There is nothing I love more than wedding day nerves. There is something about that excitement that brings a smile to my face. Liestra’s dress was so beautiful, and she looked so flawless as she walked down the aisle. You would never guess that she has two adult sons – she has definitely been drinking from the fountain of youth.

The ceremony was lovely – everyone was so present and engaged. Immediately after the ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful light on the golf course, and did family portraits and bridal party portraits. Then I stole Liestra and Roger for a little while, so we can get some intimate portraits of just the two of them.

Thank you both for letting me a part of your special day. I wish  you an eternity of happiness!
